The story follows The Baker and his wife who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to go the King’s Festival, and Jack who wishes his cow would give some milk. When the Baker and his wife are visited by the neighborhood witch, who reveals to them that she placed a curse on their family, the two set off on a journey into the woods to reverse the curse. Also in the woods, we meet Little Red, who is trying to visit her grandmother, the Wolf who loves tasty little girls, the Witch’s daughter Rapunzel, and the Princes chasing after their loves. By the end of Act I, everyone has gotten their wish and will seemingly live happily ever after. But in Act II, when Jack’s beanstalk brings them a visit from an angry Giant, we see how the consequences of their actions haunt them in disastrous ways. The community must come together to save each other and their kingdom, but sacrifices must be made.

The Bell Witch Pre-NCTC Performance Monday, October 28, 2019 -- 7:00pm (Doors open at 6:30pm) ------ Sanderson High School Auditorium - (5500 Dixon Drive, Raleigh, 27609) PURCHASE TICKETS: https://www.locallevelevents.com/events/details/8503 North Carolina Theatre Conference (NCTC) High School Play Festival November 1-2, 2019 -- Catawba College Based on one of America’s most famous hauntings, “The Bell Witch” by B. Dwayne Craft, is inspired by the story of the Bell Witch of Adams, Tennessee. The Bell Witch haunted John Bell’s family in the 1800s and is reputed to have directly caused John Bell’s death by giving him a glass of poison to drink. Most haunting, though, is that the spirit predicted that it would return 107 years later to haunt his descendants. Andrew Jackson himself stayed at the Bell family farm and later reportedly said that he would rather ‘face the whole of the British army than face the Bell witch again.' Set in 1937, the play depicts the Adams, Tennessee townspeople tensely awaiting the return of its greatest fear, the Bell Witch. Charles Bailey Bell returns to put an end to the curse that has haunted his family for two generations. |

Terrible, hilarious tragedy... Combining the gut-wrenching plot twists of Game of Thrones, and the soul-numbing despair of Shakespearean tragedy, this adaptation of King Lear will leave you dying with laughter as the body count mounts. When you play the Game of Tiaras, you win... or you die. |
