What is the International Thespian Society (ITS)?
The International Thespian Society is an honor society for high school theatre students. It is a division of the Educational Theatre Association. Membership is granted for the performance of meritorious work in theatre arts.
Thespian troupes serve students in grades 9-12. Induction eligibility is determined by a point system. Points are earned through the successful completion of a required number of hours of work within the theatre community (within the school program, classes, community theatre, Jr ITS membership in middle school, etc). Please see Ms Smith with specific questions regarding the earning and tracking of eligibility hours.

ITS Regionals & State Thespian Festival
Plan ahead for our North Carolina Festivals in 2024!

- The date and location for Regionals Festival is CONFIRMED!:
- January 6, 2024
- NEW Location - Trinity High School (5746 Trinity High School Dr, Trinity, NC 27370 -- near Greensboro)
- from North Raleigh, this is 1 hour & 24 minutes travel time. Please do a travel time check ASAP and plan your Raleigh departure time accordingly!

- FEE per person: $35
- Transportation: Self Managed / Car pool (no formal transportation is arranged for Regionals)
- January 6, 2024
- ITS Theatre Feis!
- February 22, 2024 -- 7:00-8:30pm -- LSA Blackbox.
- Come out for a great night of performances from our ITS Troupe members. This is your chance to see all of the songs, scenes and presentations that our Amazing Theatre Students will be taking to the ITS State Festival Competition in less than two (2) weeks!
- Tickets: $5/each
- State Festival has been CONFIRMED to be held:
- March 1-3, 2024
- FEE per person: $200 (this covers the $165/person registration fee + food, hotel and a portion of the charter bus costs)
- Location: Eastern Carolina University (ECU)
- Competitors who score an "Excellent" or a "Superior" rating at Regionals will move on to compete at the State Festival
- You do not have to be a competitor to attend State Conference. You can participate as a general attendee.
- Attendees will enjoy amazing workshops, see a State Thespian production, have the opportunity to run for a State Officer position, bond with their LRE peers and meet so many great new friends
