Studio Theatre Intermediate
2020-2021 Course Description
Please note that PERFORMANCE is a required component of ALL Theatre classes.
Theatre Studio Intermediate
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Theatre Studio Beginning / Teacher recommendation.
This level can be repeated multiple times.
Theatre Studio Intermediate is designed for students who would like to continue to develop performance & analysis techniques and apply that knowledge directly to how theatre is created, or are on an endorsement track. We will look at the rehearsal process from beginning to end, the roles of the various professionals in the industry, and how collaboration between theatre-makers is most effective. Performance work will include Anne Bogart's movement system of Viewpoints, Linklater’s vocal technique, introductory Devised Theatre, mime/physicality techniques, as well as more expansive script writing skills. The year will culminate with combining these techniques into performances of original pieces using improvisation and composition work.
